The most well-liked path up Kilimanjaro is the Machame route, popularly referred to as the "Whiskey" route. Machame's picturesque beauty is one of its draws. However, because of its shorter route, the track is regarded as arduous, steep, and challenging.
The journey begins with a brief drive from Moshi to Machame Gate as it makes its way toward Mount Kilimanjaro from the south. To get to Shira Plateau, trekkers must travel through a rain forest. Numerous Kilimanjaro trails come together here. Before summiting from Barafu, the route then turns east and travels beside Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field over a route known as the Southern Circuit. The Mweka path is used for the descent.
Day 0: Arrive in Tanzania
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha. You'll meet your guide, who will give you a rundown of your forthcoming walk and check your gear to make sure you have everything you need for the mountains. On this day, the missing equipment can be rented.

The ascent begins with Machame Gate (1830m), where we stroll across the mountain's verdant lower slopes. You will reach the first Machame Camp, located at 3000m above sea level, as you gradually gain altitude while taking in the varied flora and animals of the rain forest. If it's a clear day, and the evening clouds cooperate, we might get our first close-up view of Kibo's glaciated dome.

Full Board Shira Cave Camp
A shorter day of hiking involves ascending a steep ridge to the Picnic Site, a small semicircular cliff, and then continuing your trek across the lower alpine moorland, famed for its stunning wild alpine flowers. Shira Camp offers some of Kibo Peak's most breathtaking vistas.
Day 3: Kilimanjaro Hiking from Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower to Baranco camp

Today's trek includes a gradual ascent and sweeping vistas. After a hearty lunch at the base of the Lava Tower (4,600 m), we travel the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing beneath it and the last stretch of the Western Breach before descending to the Great Barranco valley (3,950 m).
Day 4: Kilimanjaro Barranco Camp to Karanga camp

We arrive right below the Heim Glacier after a strenuous ascent up the eastern side, where we might be treated to some breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro. The trail then descends through the alpine desert of the Karanga Valley before a difficult ascent to Karanga Camp. After taking a steep escape up the Great Barranco Wall, which separates us from the southeast slopes of Kibo, we then continue on our descent.
Day 5: Kilimanjaro Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After leaving Karanga, the terrain becomes easier to navigate across compacted scree with expansive vistas all the way to Barafu Camp. From the Barafu Camp, one can view Kibo and Mawenzi. The rest of the day is spent relaxing as we get ready for the final ascent before an early-morning summit trek after a nice meal at the Camp.
Day 6: Kilimanjro Barafu Camp to Uhuru peak to Mweka Camp

Before midnight, in the shadows, get up. We start a hard ascent through loose volcanic scree at a slow but steady pace that will eventually get us to Stella Point, which is the rim of the main crater, at a height of 5,735 meters. We'll take a little break there to watch the sunrise over Mawenzi. Those who are still in good spirits can gently travel the two hours round journey to the highest point in Africa, main path k (5,895 m), around the crater rim from here. After taking a moment to recognize your accomplishments, we quickly descend to Barafu Camp, where we stop for a snack before continuing to descend to Mweka Camp.
Day 7: Kilimanjaro Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Half Board
Successful climbers will collect their summit certificates at Mweka gate after a leisurely stroll through the rainforest. We return to your hotel in Moshi after lunch.
